Target Information
Integrin alpha-V/beta-3 (ITGAV:ITGB3) serves as a receptor for a variety of molecules, including cytotactin, fibronectin, laminin, matrix metalloproteinase-2, osteopontin, osteomodulin, prothrombin, thrombospondin, vitronectin, and von Willebrand factor. Similarly, integrin alpha-IIB/beta-3 (ITGA2B:ITGB3) acts as a receptor for fibronectin, fibrinogen, plasminogen, prothrombin, thrombospondin, and vitronectin. Both integrins, alpha-IIB/beta-3 and alpha-V/beta-3, recognize the R-G-D sequence in many ligands. In mice, integrin β3 performs diverse roles, including cell adhesion, platelet function, embryo implantation, tumorigenesis, angiogenesis, and inflammatory response. It is particularly important for endometrial receptivity during embryo implantation. Mouse models demonstrate that integrin β3 expression is closely linked to endometrial receptivity, and its secretion in the glandular and tubular epithelium of the endometrium is crucial for embryo implantation. Furthermore, studies reveal a correlation between integrin β3 expression and levels of endometrial receptivity markers, such as IL-1β and IL-10, highlighting its role in regulating the endometrial microenvironment.
