Target Information
Ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1), also known as NAD(P)H-ubiquinone oxidoreductase, plays a crucial role in regulating a form of cell death called ferroptosis. Ferroptosis is a regulated cell death process characterized by the accumulation of harmful lipid peroxides. FSP1 was identified as a powerful back-up system for a key regulator of ferroptosis called glutathione peroxidase 4. As the second mainstay of ferroptosis, it efficiently prevents lipid peroxidation via NAD(P)H-dependent reduction of quinones.
