Target Information
Mouse Tyrosine 3-Monooxygenase (Th) is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of catecholamines, including dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine. It catalyzes the conversion of L-tyrosine to L-DOPA, the rate-limiting step in catecholamine biosynthesis. Th is highly expressed in the brain, adrenal medulla, and sympathetic ganglia, where it plays a crucial role in regulating mood, stress response, and autonomic function. Abnormal expression or function of Th can lead to various neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Additionally, Th has been implicated in the regulation of metabolism and energy homeostasis, with its activity being modulated by various neurotransmitters and hormones.
