Goat metalloproteinase inhibitor 3 (TIMP3) plays a significant role in goat reproduction and tissue repair. It regulates apoptosis and steroidogenesis in granulosa cells of the ovary, affecting follicular growth and corpus luteum formation. Additionally, TIMP3 is involved in extracellular matrix remodeling by inhibiting the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), contributing to tissue repair and regeneration.
