β-Lactoglobulin (BLG) serves as the primary whey protein in cow and sheep milk at concentrations of approximately 3 g/L, and is also found in various other mammalian species. In pigs, β-lactoglobulin is composed of a mixture of two chains, distinguished by the presence of either Gln or Thr at the 119th position.

User Note
- Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl (pH 8.0) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquote the reconstituted solution to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
