Target Information
Chicken Fructose-Bisphosphate Aldolase C (ALDOC) is a key enzyme involved in glycolysis, catalyzing the reversible cleavage of fructose-1,6-bisphosphate into glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. It is highly expressed in the brain, particularly in Purkinje cells, and plays a crucial role in maintaining energy homeostasis. ALDOC is also involved in signal transduction pathways, interacting with proteins such as phospholipase D2 and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. In chickens, ALDOC has been implicated in the regulation of germ cell differentiation and the formation of primordial germ cells (PGCs), where it may influence the glycolytic pathway during early embryonic development.
