Target Information
Bovine triggering receptor expressed on nyeloid cells 1 (TREM1) is a receptor primarily found on neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages. It plays a significant role in the initiation and amplification of inflammatory responses. TREM1, when activated, can enhance the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, leading to the recruitment and activation of immune cells at the site of infection or injury. This receptor is also implicated in the regulation of antitumor immunity within the tumor microenvironment. The activation of TREM1 on myeloid cells has been shown to promote a proinflammatory state, which can be harnessed for immunotherapeutic strategies against cancer. In cattle, TREM1 may be utilized as a biomarker for inflammatory diseases and could potentially be targeted for therapeutic interventions.
