Target Information
Swine phospholipase A2 (PLA2G1B) is a secreted phospholipase primarily synthesized in the pancreas and also expressed in the lung. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of the sn-2 fatty acyl moiety from phospholipids, participating in lipid metabolism and inflammatory responses. In swine, research on PLA2G1B has shown its role in regulating intestinal immunity and anti-inflammatory processes. For example, PLA2G1B is significantly upregulated in Japanese medaka infected with Edwardsiella piscicida, indicating its role in intestinal immunity . Additionally, studies on the application of PLA2G1B in bovine mastitis treatment have shown that PLA2G1B can significantly improve cell viability and reduce the secretion of inflammatory factors, demonstrating its anti-inflammatory and membrane-protective effects.
