Target Information
Mouse Mast Cell Carboxypeptidase A (Cpa3) is a mast cell-specific protease that plays a crucial role in immune responses. It is stored in mast cell granules and released upon activation, contributing to inflammation and tissue remodeling. CPA3 is involved in degrading endogenous proteins and inactivating venom-associated peptides. In addition, it regulates blood pressure by generating angiotensin II and controls inflammation by cleaving specific cytokines. However, studies have shown that CPA3 is dispensable for the development of allergic airway inflammation in acute asthma models in mice.
