Target Information

Mouse cluster of differentiation 301 (CD301, Mgl1) is a 38 kDa type II transmembrane C-type lectin whose carbohydrate-recognition domain binds terminal Gal/GalNAc on glycoproteins and glycolipids. A solvent-exposed 18-residue "QRD" loop (aa 150-167) between α2 and α3 helices forms a β-hairpin unique among mouse lectins, presenting a fixation-stable epitope absent from Mgl2 or DC-SIGN. Affinity-purified antibodies targeting this loop trace native CD301 on macrophage membranes, splenic marginal zones, and dermal dendritic cells, delivering crisp surface rims and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to other C-type lectins.
