Target Information

Mouse Leukocyte Cell Derived Chemotaxin 2 (LECT2) is a 16 kDa secreted protein that functions as a chemokine and hepatokine. It is primarily synthesized by hepatocytes and circulates in plasma, where it modulates neutrophil chemotaxis, macrophage activation, and endothelial cell migration. LECT2 also acts as a signaling ligand for the receptor tyrosine kinase Tie1, influencing vascular remodeling and liver regeneration. Its expression is up-regulated during acute-phase responses and metabolic stress. As a key mediator of leukocyte trafficking and hepatic metabolism, LECT2 is an important target for studies of inflammation, liver injury, and metabolic disorders.
