Target Information

Mouse caspase 8 (CASP8) is a 55-kDa cysteine protease and core mediator of extrinsic apoptosis. It localizes to the cytoplasm and is activated by death receptor signaling complexes, initiating a cascade of downstream caspase cleavage to drive programmed cell death. Expressed ubiquitously in mouse tissues-with notable levels in lymphoid organs, liver, and epithelial tissues-it also regulates immune signaling and inflammatory responses. Beyond apoptosis, it modulates cell survival and tissue homeostasis in physiological and pathological contexts. As a key regulator of cell death and immune pathways, mouse CASP8 is a critical target for studying apoptotic disorders, inflammatory diseases, and cancer-related mechanisms.
