Target Information
Mouse heat shock protein 60 (HSP60) is a 60-kDa chaperone protein primarily localized in mitochondria. It facilitates the folding and assembly of newly synthesized proteins, maintaining cellular proteostasis under physiological conditions. Expressed ubiquitously in mouse tissues-with increased levels in metabolically active organs like liver, heart, and kidney-it responds to cellular stress by stabilizing misfolded proteins. Beyond chaperone function, it participates in immune modulation when released extracellularly. As a key regulator of protein homeostasis and stress responses, mouse HSP60 is a critical target for studying mitochondrial function, neurodegenerative disorders, and stress-related pathological mechanisms.
