Target Information

Patatin like phospholipase domain containing 2 is encoded by the PNPLA2 gene in pigs. It is a novel triacylglycerol (TG) lipase which specifically removes the first fatty acid from the triglyceride molecule generating free fatty acid and diglyceride (DG) in mammalian cells.
