Target Information

The function of ELA4 in mice remains unclear, but current data suggest it may share some genetic homology with Caldecrin, despite notable differences in their functions and expressions. Caldecrin is a protein related to trypsin C, featuring an activation peptide connected by a disulfide bond, similar to trypsin C's properties. Research has indicated that while Caldecrin and ELA4 are genetically similar, their expression patterns in mice differ. ELA4 has been utilized to study mouse lung disease models, such as inducing emphysema through multiple low-dose injections of ELA4. This implies that ELA4 could play a role in certain pathological conditions, potentially impacting the structure and function of lung tissue.

Target/Biomarker Mouse ELA4
Target Synonym CLCR; CTRC; Chymotrypsin C; Caldecrin
