Additionally, Cofilin-1 has been identified as a significant gene impacting anxiety behavior in mice. Gene mapping studies have located Cofilin-1 within quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with anxiety. Further research revealed that selectively knocking out Cofilin-1 in the forebrain of mice can markedly decrease anxiety behavior, highlighting its vital role in regulating emotional behavior.
