Mouse Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 2 (VEGFR2) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

VEGFR2 serves as the primary receptor for VEGF-A, driving endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and survival through the activation of tyrosine kinase activity. Its signaling pathway includes the phospholipase Cγ (PLCγ)-protein kinase C (PKC)-Raf-MAP kinase cascade, which facilitates DNA synthesis and angiogenesis. Apart from being a central regulator of normal angiogenesis, VEGFR2 is crucial in various pathological conditions, such as ischemia, tumors, and pain. In an ischemic hindlimb model, mice lacking the MBD2 gene showed significantly enhanced blood flow recovery and capillary regeneration due to the upregulation of VEGFR2 and eNOS expression, highlighting VEGFR2's protective role in ischemic repair. As a specific ligand for VEGFR2, VEGF-E promotes strong angiogenesis while causing a mild inflammatory response in mice, indicating its promise as a pro-angiogenic treatment.
