Target Information
Dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase (DLD), also known as dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase, mitochondrial, is an enzyme encoded by the DLD gene in pigs. DLD is a flavoprotein enzyme that oxidizes dihydrolipoamide to lipoamide. It is required for the complete reaction of at least five different multi-enzyme complexes. Porcine heart dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase is able to use nitric oxide as an electron acceptor and NADH as an electron donor, forming nitrate in the reaction.
