Target Information

The Glycoprotein Hormones Alpha Chain (CGA), also known as haptocorrin, R-factor, or R-protein, is a protein encoded by the CGA gene. Glycoprotein hormones (GPHs) are the most complex molecules with hormonal activity. They are found only in vertebrates. They include three pituitary hormones, the gonadotropins follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, and thyroid-stimulating hormone. In summary, the Glycoprotein Hormones Alpha Chain is a critical component of several hormones, contributing to their biological functions and specificity.
