Target Information
Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is an enzyme found in nearly all living cells. Lactate dehydrogenase catalyzes the interconversion of pyruvate and lactate with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide as a coenzyme. It shuttles hydrogen ions between molecules, aiding in metabolic reactions. LDH is released by tissues when they experience damage or injury. The predicted amino acid sequence of bovine LDHA showed 96.7% homology with that of porcine LDHA.
