Target Information

IgG, also known as IgY, is one of the major glycoproteins found in pigeon plasma. It is the most common type of antibody found in blood circulation. IgG binds to various pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi, protecting the body from infection. In a previous study, researchers analyzed the oligosaccharide structures of pigeon IgG and discovered several unique glycosylation properties that are not present in other avian or mammalian IgGs.
