Target Information

Death-associated protein kinase 3 is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the regulation of apoptosis, autophagy, transcription, translation, and actin cytoskeleton reorganization. It modulates both type I (caspase-dependent) apoptotic and type II (caspase-independent) autophagic cell death signals, depending on the cellular context. Dapk3 plays a role in regulating cell proliferation and migration across various cell types. During mouse embryonic development, Dapk3 is crucial for acini formation. Research indicates that Dapk3 deficiency results in acini expansion and reduced cell apoptosis, while also increasing sensitivity to the mTOR signaling pathway.
