Target Information

Meteorin-like protein (Metrnl), which is also known as Meteorin-β, interleukin-41, and subfatin, is a cytokine involved in various physiological processes. Metrnl plays a role in attenuating inflammation. Meteorin-like protein is encoded by the METRNL gene in horses. It is a novel secreted protein with pleiotropic effects on inflammation, immunology and metabolism. It is abundant in metabolically related organs and barrier tissues.
