Target Information

ITGA2B, also known as Integrin Subunit Alpha 2b, is a fascinating protein that plays a crucial role in our blood coagulation system. TGA2B encodes the αIIb subunit of the αIIbβ3 integrin, also known as the platelet fibrinogen receptor. Mutations in the genes encoding the αIIb (TGA2B) or β3 (ITGB3) subunits can cause Glanzmann's thrombasthenia, a blood clotting disorder in horses.

Target/Biomarker Equine ITGA2B
Target Synonym CD41; CD41B; ITG-A2B; GTA; GP2B; GPIIb; HPA3; Platelet Glycoprotein IIb Of IIb/IIIa Complex; Antigen CD41
