Target Information
Adrenomedullin (ADM) is a polypeptide with multiple biological effects on the cardiovascular system that is elevated in septic humans and experimental animals. It was initially isolated from a pheochromocytoma, a tumor of the adrenal medulla, which is why it's called "adrenomedullin." ADM is expressed by all tissues and is found in the circulation. Plasma ADM shows promise as a marker of health in neonatal foals.
