Target Information
Bovine Extracellular Calcium-Sensing Receptor is encoded by the CASR gene in cattle. It is predominantly expressed in the parathyroids and kidney. It is a family C G-protein-coupled receptors, which regulates systemic calcium (Ca2+) homeostasis that is critical for many physiological, calciotropical, and noncalciotropical outcomes in multiple organs. It allows regulation of parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion and renal tubular calcium re-absorption in response to alterations in extracellular calcium concentrations.
