Target Information

Type I collagen (COL1) makes up approximately 90% of the total collagen in the vertebrate body. Due to its prevalence, it is also the most abundant protein type found in all vertebrates. Type I collagen forms large, eosinophilic fibers known as collagen fibers. These fibers make up most of the rope-like dense connective tissue in the body. Horse collagen is generally considered to be virtually free of the risk of zoonotic transmission.
