Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 19, also known as TNFRSF19 or TROY, encodes a protein that is a member of the TNF receptor superfamily. It has been shown to interact with TRAF family members and activate the JNK signaling pathway when overexpressed in cells. This receptor can induce apoptosis through a caspase independent mechanism and is considered to play an important role in embryonic development. The chicken orthologue of TROY has been isolated and the role in early feather development was analysed.
