Target Information
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), also referred to as Müllerian-inhibiting hormone (MIH), is a glycoprotein hormone belonging to the transforming growth factor beta superfamily. It is structurally related to inhibin and activin and plays crucial roles in growth differentiation and folliculogenesis. In chickens, AMH expression was inhibited by vitamin D and significantly decreased during follicle selection. In efficient egg-laying hens, AMH expression was restricted, expressed only in progressively growing follicle populations, and declined significantly upon follicle selection. AMH may influence follicle selection and development by regulating follicle sensitivity.
