Target Information

Cyclic Guanosine Monophosphate (cGMP) is a cyclic nucleotide derived from guanosine triphosphate (GTP). It acts as a second messenger, much like cyclic AMP, and is involved in regulating ion channel conductance, glycogenolysis, and cellular apoptosis. Guanylate cyclase (GC) catalyzes cGMP synthesis. It was reported that, after treatment with C-type natriuretic peptide, the cGMP level in goat mammary epithelial cells was significantly upregulated.

Target/Biomarker Caprine cGMP
Target Synonym c-GMP; 3',5'-Cyclic GMP; Cyclic 3',5'-GMP; Guanosine 3',5'-Cyclic Phosphate
