Furin paired basic amino acid cleaving enzyme, also known as FURIN, is encoded by the FURIN gene in chickens. Research showed that pro-inflammatory genes, including CNTFR, FURIN, CCR6, LIFR and IL20RA, were significantly up-regulated both in chickens of the heat-stress and heat-death groups.
