Target Information

Bovine Adenosylhomocysteinase is encoded by the AHCY gene in cattle. AHCY is a highly conserved and distinctive enzyme found in all living organisms. This enzyme plays a crucial role in regulating adenosine-mediated cell signaling by controlling the levels of SAH. Its function is to catalyze the reversible breakdown of S-adenosylhomocysteine, which is both a by-product and a potent inhibitor of methyltransferase activity.

Target/Biomarker Bovine AHCY
Target Synonym adenosylhomocysteinase; S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine hydrolase; S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase; adoHcyase
Gene ID 508158
UniProt ID Q3MHL4
