Target Information

ULT1A1 catalyzes the sulfate conjugation of several compounds, including hormones, neurotransmitters, drugs, and xenobiotics. Specifically, it adds sulfate groups to small planar phenols such as catecholamines and phenolic drugs. SULT1A1 is expressed in the outer roots sheath of hair follicles. Bovine Sulfotransferase 1A1 is encoded by the SULT1A1 gene in cattle. It is a very conserved homolog to the human SULT1A1.
