Target Information

Glutamyl aminopeptidase plays a key role in regulating central hypertension through its calcium-modulated ability to cleave N-terminal acidic residues from peptides like angiotensin II. In mice, glutamine peptidase is crucial for various biological functions, including amino acid metabolism, blood pressure regulation, and the progression of disease-related pathological processes. As an exoenzyme, it specifically hydrolyzes glutamine residues at the N-terminus of oligopeptides or proteins. This enzyme is expressed across multiple tissues in mice, such as the bone marrow, thymus, kidney, intestine, and placenta. Research shows that glutamine peptidase is particularly active in mouse kidney tissue, indicating a significant role in renal metabolism.
