Target Information

Bovine Glutaredoxin-1 is encoded by the GLRX gene in cattle. GLRX1 acts as a glutathione-disulfide oxidoreductase in the presence of NADPH and glutathione reductase. It reduces low molecular weight disulfides and proteins. Essentially, it helps maintain cellular redox balance. It is involved in the canonical pathway vitamin-C transport, which may alter beef color, lipid stability and fatty acid composition between grass-fed and grain-fed cattle.

Target/Biomarker Bovine GLRX
Target Synonym glutaredoxin; GLRXL; glutaredoxin-1; Ttase; glutaredoxin (thioltransferase); thioltransferase
