Target Information

Estrone is a 17-oxo steroid characterized by the estra-1,3,5(10)-triene structure, with a hydroxy group at position 3 and an oxo group at position 17, serving as an estrogen. Estrogens, including the three major forms-estrone (E1), estradiol (E2), and estriol (E3)-are essential hormones for developing female characteristics and reproductive functions. Research indicates that E1 negatively impacts testicular function and semen quality in zebrafish, even at environmental concentrations.
