Target Information

Bovine Aquaporin-4 is encoded by the AQP4 gene in cattle. It is a member of Aquaporins which are a family of transmembrane proteins that act as water selective channels. It is widely expressed in the central nervous system where it play several roles. It shows the largest presence in the cerebellum and spinal cord grey matter. It also plays a crucial role in maintaining water homeostasis within the CNS.
