Target Information

5-Methoxytryptophan (5-MTP) is an endothelial factor known for its anti-inflammatory effects. It is produced from L-tryptophan through two enzymatic steps involving tryptophan hydroxylase-1 (TPH-1) and hydroxyindole O-methyltransferase. 5-MTP aids in preserving endothelial barrier integrity and facilitates endothelial repair. Additionally, it prevents the migration and proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells by inhibiting the activation of p38 MAPK.
