Target Information

Integrins are a type of protein that play a crucial role in cell adhesion and interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM). They consist of two non-covalently linked subunits, α and β. Among these subunits, integrin β1 is the most common and has emerged as a key mediator in cancer. It influences various aspects of cancer progression, including cell motility, adhesion, migration, proliferation, differentiation, and chemotherapy resistance. In particular, integrin β1 facilitates adhesion between cancer cells and the ECM, which is essential for cancer cell survival. It is also closely associated with cancer cell metastasis, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy, among other activities
