Target Information

Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone and is the androgen in the male. It is a steroid hormone that produces potent relaxation of vascular smooth muscle. Its deficiency is associated with coronary artery disease. Research has shown that testosterone produces relaxation of the porcine bladder neck by mechanisms that are independent of the urothelium, NO synthase, guanylyl cyclase, COX, aromatase, 5a-reductase, or K+ channels.
