Target Information
Apolipoprotein B is encoded by the APOB gene in pigs. It is a member of the apolipoproteins, which are polypeptide carriers of cholesterol, triglycerides, and phospholipids in the circulation. It is a major component of lipoproteins, including low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). It plays an important role in lipoprotein flux and is required for the secretion of VLDL and chylomicrons by the liver and intestine.
