Target Information
CTX-II is the C-terminal telopeptide of fibrillar collagens, specifically collagen type II. Cross-linked C-telopeptide of type II collagen (CTXII) is one of the most widely studied markers for the diagnosis of osteoarthritis (OA). Elevated levels of CTX-II are associated with cartilage breakdown. Research has shown that urinary CTXII levels have the potential to discriminate knee OA patients from healthy controls and may serve as a biomarker for knee OA.
