Target Information
Mouse Platelet-Derived Growth Factor C (Pdgfc) is a critical member of the PDGF family, playing essential roles in development and tissue repair. It binds primarily to PDGFR-α and, when co-expressed, PDGFR-β. Pdgfc is highly expressed in early embryonic development, including the pre-implantation stage, and is crucial for the formation of multiple organs and tissues. It regulates vascular development, neural tube formation, and palate development. In mouse models, genetic deletion of Pdgfc leads to defects in brain development, vascular abnormalities, and cleft palate.
