Target Information
Rat ribonuclease A3 (RNase3) is a 16 kDa cationic RNase whose three-disulfide lattice forms a narrow catalytic pocket that hydrolyzes single-stranded RNA after cytidine and uridine. A solvent-exposed "QHR" ridge (aa 38-46) on helix α1 is unique among rat RNase A paralogs, offering a strain-specific epitope preserved in granule and secreted forms. Polyclonal antibodies targeting this ridge trace native RNase3 in eosinophil granules, nasal mucosa, and bronchoalveolar fluid, yielding crisp cytoplasmic puncta and single-band clarity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to RNase1 or RNase2.
