Target Information

Mouse density-enhanced phosphatase 1 (DEP-1) is a 220 kDa receptor-like protein tyrosine phosphatase whose extracellular fibronectin-type III repeats cluster at cell-cell contacts, while the single intracellular catalytic domain targets phosphorylated tyrosines on growth-factor receptors and adherens-junction components. A solvent-exposed "KNRY" motif (aa 1165-1178) within the juxtamembrane wedge is unique among PTPRJ family members, presenting a conformational epitope accessible in both native and fixed tissues. Affinity-purified antibodies directed against this sequence trace DEP-1 in lung endothelium, mammary epithelium, and fibroblast focal adhesions, delivering crisp membrane staining and single-band specificity on immunoblots with no cross-reaction to DEP-2 or CD45.
