Target Information
Mouse tripeptidyl peptidase I (TPP1) is a 68-kDa lysosomal serine protease ubiquitously expressed in murine tissues, with elevated levels in kidney, liver, and brain. It catalyzes the sequential cleavage of N-terminal tripeptides from proteins, supporting lysosomal protein degradation and turnover. Critical for murine lysosomal homeostasis, cellular nutrient recycling, and tissue remodeling, it modulates pathways involved in embryonic development and immune response regulation. Dysregulated activity due to mutations associates with late-infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (LINCL), a neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorder, in mouse models. As a key mediator of lysosomal proteolysis and neuronal health, mouse TPP1 is a critical target for studying lysosomal pathobiology and developing enzyme replacement therapeutics.
