Target Information
Rat X-ray repair cross-complementing 6 (XRCC6, Ku70) forms the DNA-binding heterodimer of DNA-PK, essential for non-homologous end joining repair of DNA double-strand breaks. Constitutively expressed in nucleus and cytoplasm, it recruits repair enzymes to damaged chromatin and stabilizes telomeres. XRCC6 offers a sensitive, species-specific marker for DNA damage response and genomic stability. Validated antibodies detect native Ku70 without cross-reactivity to Ku80 or other repair factors, enabling accurate western blot, IHC and comet assay analyses in toxicological, aging and cancer studies.
