Target Information

Mouse podoplanin (PDPN) is a 43-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein predominantly expressed in murine lymphatic endothelial cells, podocytes, and certain immune cells (lymphocytes, macrophages). It mediates cell-cell adhesion, cytoskeletal remodeling, and signaling via interactions with C-type lectin-like receptor 2 (CLEC-2). Critical for murine lymphatic vessel development, blood-lymphatic barrier formation, and renal filtration function, it also regulates immune cell trafficking and tumor metastasis in cancer models. Dysregulated expression associates with lymphangiogenesis-related disorders, glomerulopathy, and malignant progression. As a key mediator of lymphatic biology and cell signaling, mouse PDPN is a critical target for studying lymphatic pathobiology, cancer metastasis, and vascular-targeted therapeutics.
