Mouse interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a 21 kDa four-helix cytokine that binds the IL-6Rα/gp130 receptor complex on hepatocytes, B cells and myeloid cells, activating JAK/STAT3 and MAPK cascades to drive acute-phase responses, plasma-cell maturation and Th17 differentiation. Its receptor-binding loop presents a unique, species-restricted epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-IL-6 immunoreagents detect both free and receptor-bound forms in serum, plasma and tissue lysates without cross-reacting with IL-11 or LIF, providing a precise read-out of inflammatory and metabolic signaling.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
