Specifications
Target Information
Mouse induced myeloid leukemia cell differentiation protein Mcl-1 (MCL1) is a 37-kDa anti-apoptotic BCL-2 family member ubiquitously expressed in murine tissues, with enriched levels in hematopoietic cells, liver, and neurons. It regulates mitochondrial outer membrane integrity by sequestering pro-apoptotic BCL-2 proteins, inhibiting caspase activation and promoting cell survival. Critical for murine embryonic development, hematopoietic homeostasis, and tissue regeneration, it supports cell survival during stress responses and immune activation. Dysregulated overexpression drives oncogenesis in leukemia, lymphoma, and solid tumors, while loss-of-function associates with neurodegeneration. As a key mediator of apoptotic signaling and cancer cell survival, mouse MCL1 is a critical target for studying apoptosis regulation and developing BCL-2 family-targeted anticancer therapeutics.
